I&#8217;ve teamed up with Origin to create four delicious recipes, using plenty of pantry staples, this winter to help inspire you to dig out your slow cooker and whip up some tasty winter warmers. Starting with these chicken shawarma wraps. They&#8217;re hearty, delicious and are sure to be a hit with the whole household.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Makes 10 serves<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you&#8217;ll need<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5 chicken thigh fillets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 garlic cloves \u2013 crushed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 a red onion \u2013 thinly sliced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon cumin&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon turmeric&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon cardamom&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon cinnamon&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon oregano<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 tablespoon Aleppo pepper&nbsp;<em>(can be substituted for 1\/4 tbsp dried chilli flakes and 1\/4 tbsp smoked paprika)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tablespoon smoked paprika&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tablespoon sumac&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tablespoons olive oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Juice of 1 lemon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt &amp; pepper to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For the garlic yogurt<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1\/4 cup pickle juice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon crushed garlic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tablespoon mayo <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt &amp; pepper to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To serve<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Flat parsley \u2013 roughly chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pickles \u2013 sliced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pita wraps or Lebanese bread<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.originenergy.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/186\/Winter-Warmers-Chicken-shawarma-Blog-article-image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21863\" style=\"width:1182px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.originenergy.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/186\/Winter-Warmers-Chicken-shawarma-Blog-article-image.png 800w, https:\/\/www.originenergy.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/186\/Winter-Warmers-Chicken-shawarma-Blog-article-image-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/www.originenergy.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/186\/Winter-Warmers-Chicken-shawarma-Blog-article-image-150x113.png 150w, https:\/\/www.originenergy.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/186\/Winter-Warmers-Chicken-shawarma-Blog-article-image-768x576.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Just look at this juicy chicken!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Place all the ingredients in a 5L slow cooker. Mix well and place the slow cooker on high for 3 hours.<br>2. Cut the chicken to your preferred portions and lay on top of the pita bread.<br>3. Top with the garlic yogurt, pickles, parsley and extra juice from the chicken.
