Car pool.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s start with the bad news: the average combined CO2 emissions for a new light vehicle is around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntc.gov.au\/sites\/default\/files\/assets\/files\/Carbon-dioxide-emissions-intensity-for-new-Australian-light-vehicles-2019.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">180 grams per kilometre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, for some good news. There are plenty of ways to cut down on how much we drive.<\/p>\n<p>If you live close to work or school, you might consider riding or walking. If you\u2019re a little further away, you can use public transport. But even those who have to drive can still reduce their emissions \u2013 with car pooling.<\/p>\n<p>So reach out to your neighbour, housemate or colleague and ask where they\u2019re going. Even if you\u2019re not going to the exact same place, just going in the same direction can help. If you can\u2019t get them all the way there, get them a little bit closer.
