{"id":15323,"date":"2021-02-05T12:15:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-05T02:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.originenergy.com.au\/?p=15323"},"modified":"2023-11-28T10:59:00","modified_gmt":"2023-11-28T00:59:00","slug":"voices-for-power-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.originenergy.com.au\/blog\/voices-for-power-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Origin joins Voices for Power&nbsp;project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"is-style-lead\">Origin has partnered with other energy companies to launch \u201cVoices for Power\u201d, a first of its kind energy-literacy program in Greater Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help tackle some of the barriers currently being experienced by members of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities when trying to manage their energy needs, Origin has partnered with other energy companies to launch \u201cVoices for Power\u201d, a first of its kind energy literacy program for CALD communities across Greater Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delivered by civil society coalition Sydney Alliance, the $200,000 pilot program is a cooperative effort between Origin, AGL, Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy and Jemena that&#8217;s expected to run from March to December 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How does Voices for Power work?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Delivered in language, in culture and in community, the <em>Voices for Power \u2018Train the Trainer\u2019 <\/em>project will work with leaders from Filipino, Vietnamese, South Asian, Pacific Island and Maori, Jewish, Middle Eastern, Christian and Muslim cultural and religious communities across Sydney to help develop them into \u201cenergy experts\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These community leaders will then be able to share their energy insights and tips with the members of their community while also advocating on their behalf for more affordable and renewable energy solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why are we doing this?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 1,160 community leaders have reported that many people are experiencing structural, technological, language and other barriers when it comes to understanding energy.
