Makes 10 serves
What you’ll need
- 5 chicken thigh fillets
- 4 garlic cloves – crushed
- 1/2 a red onion – thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 tablespoon Aleppo pepper (can be substituted for 1/4 tbsp dried chilli flakes and 1/4 tbsp smoked paprika)
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon sumac
- 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt & pepper to taste
For the garlic yogurt
- 1/4 cup pickle juice
- 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
- 1 tablespoon mayo
- 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
- Salt & pepper to taste
To serve
- Flat parsley – roughly chopped
- Pickles – sliced
- Pita wraps or Lebanese bread

Method
1. Place all the ingredients in a 5L slow cooker. Mix well and place the slow cooker on high for 3 hours.
2. Cut the chicken to your preferred portions and lay on top of the pita bread.
3. Top with the garlic yogurt, pickles, parsley and extra juice from the chicken. Enjoy!
